West Plum Creek Stream Management Plan Field Trip
Join River Network for a field trip along West Plum Creek! You’ll get a chance to talk to local and regional experts, get your hands dirty and test out various assessments methods and techniques that will help you with your Stream Management Plan (SMP) or Integrated Water Management Plan (IWMP). Participants have the opportunity to swap stories and learn from each other for the duration of the 1.5-day event.
Spring Up The Creek
Join the Town of Castle Rock in this annual area-wide effort to improve and enhance our local creeks by collecting and removing trash and debris along trails. Volunteers will be provided gloves and bags. Snacks and water will be available.
All ages are welcome and this is a perfect opportunity to fulfill community service hours while keeping Castle Rock beautiful and our watershed clean.
When registering, please select the trailhead you (and your group) would like to clean. CLEAR leaders will meet you there with bags and gloves.
Online registration with a completed waiver is required for this free event.

CWA Technical Advisory Committee Monthly Meeting
The CWA Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) is a standing committee of the Authority that reports to the CWA Board and performs duties and tasks as the Board directs to the extent requested by the Board. The TAC shall consider and report to the Board on all Authority matters of a scientific or technical nature. The Technical Advisory Committee's findings and recommendations on these matters are forwarded to the Board for full consideration.

Chatfield Watershed Authority Special Board Meeting: Lobbyist Proposal Options
A special Chatfield Watershed Authority Board meeting to review lobbyists' proposals and decide how to move forward. The CWA budget forecast shows a need for an additional $120,000 a year for the next five years for CWA to continue serving its mission. A new tax or fee is not a viable option. Before the November CWA board meeting, CWA will need to decide if it intends to pursue specific actions from recommended alternatives.
During the October 17, 2022, Board Meeting, the Board was presented with four options to consider on potential sources of additional CWA funding and the cost impacts of each option. The options were 1) discontinue the effort to pursue additional funding, 2) postpone the effort until the lakes nutrients rulemaking proceeding has concluded, then re-evaluate the CWA budget, 3) pursue additional discussions with Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the Department of Natural Resources regarding sources of potential additional funding for CWA and, 4) consider amending state statute to provide a source of funding for CWA. The next legislative session begins in January 2023 and continues through June 2023.
The CHATFIELD WATERSHED AUTHORITY (“CWA”) offers this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to respondents who are interested in service as the lobbying partner for the organization. This resulting contract is expected to be for nine months, with a possibility of extension.

CWA Board Meeting
Regular meetings of the CWA Board are held quarterly or at other regular intervals and at such time and place as determined by the Board. The Board may provide by resolution the time and place within the State of Colorado for the holding of regular meetings. All the meetings of the Board, other than executive sessions, are open to the public. No vote or other formal action shall be taken in any session which is closed to the general public.
